IAMSuite: A Secure Access Platform and Collaboration Environment for eResearch

Poster by: James Dalziel and Aizhong Lin, MELCOE, Macquarie University.

IAMSuite (Identity Access and Management Suite) is a secure access platform and collaboration environment. It accepts home institution attribute-based authentication and provides SSO to access other protected services. In IAMSuite core, it provides VO management functions for managing member groups, contents and services, and collaboration workspaces. It also facilitates a tiny trust federation management including Web-based OpenIdP, issuing certificate, and generating trust metadata. Meanwhile, IAMSuite provides advanced technologies such as:
• connecting to People Picker to find collaboration partners from IdPs;
• providing general APIs for integrating third party services into IAMSuite and making those services work for IAMSuite as its internal components;
• supporting third party portlet portals joining to IAMSuite dynamically; and
• generating proxy certificates to access Grid.

Moreover, IAMSuite will provide a VO framework that supports attribute-based authentication and SSO for developers to build their own collaboration environments. IAMSuite is an open source project under MAMS project. It beta version has been released for 12 months. IAMSuite version 1.0 will be released in the Oct. 2008.
