Ben Evans, Kevin Mayo, and Peter Kerney: Progress on the Supercomputer NCI National Facility at ANU

Abstract

Significant progress has been made installing and commissioning the new Intel based Sun Supercomputer at the NCI National Facility located at the ANU. This system will offer a new class of computer capacity to researchers. We will discuss the technologies and design parameters of the new system and also provide some early performance results from the system. The next phase of the installation is currently underway and we will discuss the new services that the completed facility will offer.
