Abstract
- What are the impediments to the uptake of eResearch by researchers?
- How can we raise the awareness of the benefits of eResearch?
- How can we learn about the eResearch needs of researchers outside the existing community when they often don't know themselves?
This BoF aims to bring together people who are interested in furthering the reach of eResearch. We hope to hear from those who are promoting eResearch and, as a group, share the methods used to determine the needs of researchers. We’d like to hear from people about how we can ensure that researchers are aware of the various resources available to them. We will discuss how to best present eResearch achievements to date and how to engage into the future, particularly with those people outside the exisiting eResearch community.
The BoF will address how to shape eResearch outreach messages for a diverse range of disciplines, how to demonstrate the benefits of eResearch for different audiences such as funding bodies and the wider academic community, and how we determine the success of different awareness raising activities.
We are interested in hearing from researchers as well as those who are supplying eResearch expertise.
