Abstract

Intersect was established on 25 June 2008 by a consortium of NSW universities and the NSW State Government to drive and coordinate the development, delivery and uptake of eResearch services and solutions. Intersect will identify, develop and deliver world-class ICT-enabled platforms to drive the next generation of research and innovation.

Interim CEO Dr Michael Briers has taken the lead role in the establishment of Intersect. Dr Briers will introduce Intersect, and describe its activities over the next few years and how researchers in NSW, and elsewhere, can benefit. This session will deal with lessons learnt during the establishment of Intersect and the challenges faced by the broader eResearch community.
