Anneliese Appleton: Scientific Business Intelligence using Pipeline Pilot

Presentation slides

Abstract

Scientific Business Intelligence is the process of turning scientific data into useful information. This presentation will illustrate how this can be achieved using the Accelrys product, Pipeline Pilot. Pipeline Pilot is a powerful client-server platform that enables the integration and analysis of vast quantities of scientific data. Pipeline Pilot allows you to graphically compose data processing networks, known as protocols, using hundreds of different configurable components for operations such as data retrieval, manipulation, computational filtering, and display. Pipeline Pilot provides an agile development environment, facilitating fast and secure deployment of applications with minimal maintenance costs and easy application extensibility. With Pipeline Pilot, you can maximize the utility of your information resources through enterprise-scale data flow control, extensive data mining capabilities, and effective reporting. The presentation will introduce you to the concepts behind the data pipelining process. An interactive demonstration of Pipeline Pilot will show you how easy it is to build protocols and a discussion of the scope of the applications that can be built will be presented.
